The role of the student

What is "La teva idea és ciència!"?

"La teva idea és ciència!" is a co-creation contest aimed at students and professors at UPC who want to apply their knowledge to solve real challenges in direct collaboration with technicians and users of social services. Organised by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya along with the iSocial Foundation and AGAUR, this contest seeks to promote interaction between students, researchers, professionals, and users of social services to devise scientific and technological projects that improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups.

Who is it aimed at, and what is the theme?

In its first edition, the contest focuses on the needs of people with intellectual disabilities, a group that faces multiple difficulties in their daily lives. If you study at UPC and have innovative ideas that could improve the lives of these individuals, you have the opportunity to work together with other students and professors to transform your ideas into viable solutions.

Why participate?

Participating in this contest will allow you to apply your knowledge to a project with real social impact, working in a team and showcasing your talent. Additionally, participation adds 1 ECTS credit* to your record, and the best ideas will be evaluated by a jury and presented at an event at UPC, giving you visibility and recognition within the academic community and opening up new professional opportunities.

*Activity recognised with 1 ECTS credit upon demonstrating participation in the initial training, a meeting at the libraries, the workshop and the final event, and by submitting a brief report on the activity. It is part of the 'Citizen science activities and service learning (ApS) within the Nexus Social UPC framework, outside of the framework of academic activities already recognised with ECTS credits,' from the 'Change the World' pathway, within the social engagement activity offer, with recognition of up to 6 ECTS credits.
