TEDx talk by Dr. Caren Cooper, North Carolina State University professor and expert in citizen science.
LiveTalk CosmoCaixa by Dr. Rosa Arias, director of Science for Change. She includes a series of tips for a good citizen science project: (1) Contact and get to know the citizens who will lead the project before writing it, (2) Apply for smaller calls as a pilot, and then go to a larger one if it has worked, (3) Being on the ground and participating in local events is the one that generates the most engagement. Don't be perceived as something distant, but as one of the community. Civic centres, fairs, schools, etc., and (4) Reward (pamper) participants so that the degree of commitment to citizen science does not wane: constant information about the project, access to content or privileged events, gifts, certificates, raffles, gamification with reward systems...
